2015 Guest Workshop ~ Franklin Habit ~ April 10 - 13 ~ Information

Welcome to the Rochester Knitting Guild


March Program at the Guild ~ Hats!

We are going to be talking about hats in March ~ Hats through the Ages! Well, KNITTED Hats through the ages, more or less. From the famed chapeaux of the Bog Folk to the Monmouth Caps of England, the Dubbelmossa of Scandinavia, Tams of Scotland, and right up to the Wurm of Ravelry fame. We will be talking about shapes & shaping, bonnets and stocking caps, tools and techniques. Please bring your favorite hat projects in for Show & Tell! The meeting is on Monday March 9th, doors open at 6:30, meeting starts at 7:00. Hope to see you there!

Looking Ahead ~ To March and The Knitting Retreat!

It doesn't matter if you like the falling temperatures and snow or not, in either case it's not too early to be thinking about Spring. The Spring Knitting Retreat that is. Mark your calendars for March 6, 7, & 8th and check out all the information about this great weekend retreat! Can't make it for the whole weekend? Saturday Day Campers are welcome too. Looking Ahead ~ To April and our Spring Workshops!

Rochester Knitting Guild welcomes Franklin Habit for four days of workshops on April 10, 11, 12 & 13, 2015. Writer, illustrator, and photographer Franklin Habit is the author of It Itches: A Stash of Knitting Cartoons (Interweave Press, 2008 - now in its third printing) and proprietor of The Panopticon, one of the most popular knitting blogs on Internet. Franklin will teach 8 different workshops and will also join us for our Monday night guild meeting (at Temple B'rith Kodesh) for a presentation. More information is here


Community Knitting

Requests for Community knitting items abound, there is always a need for whatever you want to knit ~ We do continue to need baby items, preemie hats, and scarves for veterans. If anyone needs knitting needles for classes, we received a large supply at the March meeting. Please stop by the Community Knitting table to pick up supplies to keep your Community Knitting going over the summer!
